I have a background in UK policing, serving in the cities of Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. As Assistant Chief Constable (Operations) I was the Gold Commander for all major incidents in The West Midlands Region. On leaving the police I was appointed as Team Leader for sixty expatriate experts in The Strategy Department of Abu Dhabi Police. I was subsequently appointed Industry Fellow at The School of Policing Studies, Charles Sturt University, NSW, Australia. I then moved back to The United Arab Emirates, taking up the position of Visiting Lecturer at Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi. The Academy is the lead academic institution in The UAE for disaster management and business continuity.I joined The School of Law, Policing and Forensics at Staffordshire University in September 2019.
