Paul Ottey

Senior Lecturer

School of Digital, Technologies and Arts

I developed my passion for film and moving image during the video boom of the 1980’s consuming a wide range of mainstream and more obscure and alternative films with a particular love of low budget B movie horror. My practical and technical interests led me to begin a career as a mechanical engineer and designer, working for major automotive brands such as Ford, Renault, Skoda and Jaguar.
I changed career paths after producing video materials for our automotive clients. I worked on a number of corporate videos before moving into factual production, and have since worked on numerous documentary programmes, short and long form films and personal filming projects.
