Job Title and Responsibilities
Course Leader and lecturer in Policing and Criminal Investigation.
I have responsibility for the development, delivery and co-ordination of the suite of BSc and MSci Policing and Criminal Investigation courses and I am responsible also for the quality of education provided on these courses. I am the module leader for the Investigative Skills module of the BSc Policing and Criminal Investigation degree and I teach not only on this module but also the Forensic Investigation, Criminology and Event Management degrees and will teach on the Professional Policing Degree. I am also the School of Law, Policing and Forensics General Data Protection Regulation champion.
I am a former police officer and served for over 34 years as an officer both in Staffordshire Police and Nottinghamshire Police. I reached the rank of Assistant Chief Constable and served ay this level with both forces as well as the Home Office. The bulk of my service was spent serving the communities of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. I was an accredited police football commander, strategic firearms incident commander, strategic public order commander and strategic commander for chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear terrorism.
In addition to my operational experience I have expertise in strategic leadership, performance management as well as both structural and cultural organisational change.
