Incoming Study Exchange

Are you an international student looking for study placements in the UK? Then Staffordshire University is an amazing fit. With a central location that's perfect for exploring the UK and beyond, plus a low cost of living, we're a top choice for incoming study exchanges.

How does it work?

You can study with us on an incoming study exchange for either one semester or a full academic year. If your university has an inter-institutional agreement with us, you may be able to come to Staffordshire as an incoming study exchange student. However, an agreement between Staffordshire University and your home university is not necessary; students are able to apply from any university as a fee-paying visiting student.  Fees charged are usually pro-rata our international fee.

The city of Stoke-on-Trent

Not only is Stoke-on-Trent a friendly, diverse city that is steeped in history, it's also one of the most affordable places to live in the UK, which makes it a top choice for students from home and abroad.

When it comes to culture, Stoke-on-Trent is up there with the best, and has recently seen a resurgence in everything that made it great.  For starters, it’s the World Capital of Ceramics. The city’s Pottery Museums and ceramic festivals are world-renowned, and home to Wedgwood, Burleigh and Emma Bridgewater.  Industrially and creatively the ceramic industry has helped mould the city, putting it on the map as a globally renowned destination for innovation, entrepreneurship, science and art.

However – it doesn’t stop there, the city is bursting with cultural events throughout the year like theatre, street art, drama, opera, big touring productions and festivals. The city has hosted big bands, debuted up and coming artists, ran exhibitions, showcased new talent and sponsored world class sporting events.

Central to UK destinations

Staffordshire University Stoke campus is situated next to Stoke-on-Trent rail station, providing excellent fast rail links to major UK cities such as Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. London is under 2 hours away, and from there you can even make international trips to Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels, all by train. We're also located near to one of the UK's most beautiful National Parks, The Peak District, where you can take in stunning views of our beautiful landscape.

Transcripts

From July 2022 all Staffordshire University students on a taught award delivered in the UK will receive a Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).  Paper transcripts can only be provided on request and may incur a charge for production.  The HEAR allows graduates to digitally share an authentic record of their studies with agencies and employers, providing more flexibility than paper transcripts.  We also feel that providing transcripts digitally is a more sustainable approach. Visit our HEAR page for more information.
