Document Delivery Service

Document Delivery Service

Document Delivery Service

This service is for requesting books, journal articles, reports and conference proceedings that are not currently stocked by Staffordshire University Libraries, and which are not freely available online.

Please note that this service is strictly for use by Staffordshire University students and staff.

The University Libraries use the British Library Document Supply Service (BLDSS).

This service is free for Staffordshire University students and staff.

Initially, you will need to create a personal account with BLDSS, and then associate that account with Staffordshire University.

You will be able to select and order books for loan, or request documents for direct delivery to your desktop.

Follow the step by step instructions in our guide on how to use the BLDSS On Demand service (PDF, file size: 159.71KB) .

Please note that there will be a charge of £5.00 for any loan item that is not returned promptly after it has been recalled by The British Library.

There is no limit to requests that you can make but please bear in mind that the service is expensive, so try to be selective. Before requesting an item, please make sure that it is relevant to your studies and research, the journal article abstract will help with this and Google Books may help with books.

We are unable to order theses but many of these are available digitally from the British Library.

If you wish to order a thesis, please visit the EThOS web site to search for titles or subjects. This is a self-service provision and payment may be required independently.
