As a Staffordshire University student you can apply to the Student Success (Experiences) Fund for assistance with the costs of taking part in a wide range of experiences both in the UK and overseas. The award amount you’ll receive will depend on your individual circumstances and availability of funds.

Spending time abroad during your degree is a fantastic way to help you stand out and gain a new perspective on your subject and career. You’ll experience the culture, learn the language, and make lifelong friends whilst developing many of the professional skills and a CV that will make you standout.

Important notice: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and following guidance issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO), Public Health England (PHE) and the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), we are currently unable to support applications relating to international travel. We will continue to monitor the situation and update these pages at appropriate times.

Should you wish to talk through your options, or have questions about funding, contact our exchange co-ordinator at Wendy.Pollard@staffs.ac.uk.

What can I do?

The great thing is you decide! The possibilities are endless, and you’re only limited by your imagination; experiences could include:

  • Academic led trips
  • Participation in conferences
  • Attending exhibitions worldwide
  • Summer work camps
  • Research projects abroad

  • Language tuition abroad
  • Study exchanges
  • Participation in competitions
  • Putting on and participation in live performances

As long as your chosen experience takes place during the current academic year it can be considered for funding.

How long can my experience last?
