When you join, you’ll be assigned an academic mentor. They will be responsible for supporting you as you begin your academic studies.

We also have academic skills advisors who can help with specific needs. Typical areas of support include assignment structure, academic writing, critical thinking, effective reading, planning work and time management.

This assistance is available in a variety of ways, including through one-to-one appointments with specialists, peer mentors and online resources.

Financial Support

Going to university is a real investment in your future. We understand that there might be times when you need to access additional funding and have committed significant funds to enable us to support you, whatever your individual needs. Through the Student Support Fund, you’ll be able to access additional funding for a wide variety of assistance.

We also offer a range of financial assistance to specific groups such as estranged students and care leavers.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Everybody can experience issues with health and wellbeing at some point in their life. We are committed to ensuring our students are properly supported whenever they need help.

Inclusion Needs

Our specialist advisors can provide support and guidance to student to ensure that students have access to the support they are entitled to.  This includes help to apply for the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) and offering diagnostic assessments for specific learning difficulties.

We can work with you in advance of enrolment to ensure reasonable adjustments are in place to make sure that you are not put at a disadvantage because of a disability or additional need compared to students on the same course that do not have a disability or additional need.  A Student Inclusion plan (SIP) outlines the reasonable adjustment and recommendations that will reduce barriers that you may face because of a disability, addition need or other barriers that affect your studies. Your SIP will be personalised to your needs.

International Support

We have a team of specialist advisors who provide advice and guidance to our international students, particularly on immigration matters related to the Student Route.
