Year 10 pupils across North Staffordshire are being given the opportunity to attend new Saturday clubs.
As well as the weekly classes, Club members will also take part in national network events including visits to some of the UK’s best museums and galleries, inspirational Masterclasses with leading figures from UK industry and exhibit their work in the National Saturday Club Summer Show at Somerset House, London.
Higher Horizons+ in collaboration with Staffordshire University are launching two national Saturday Clubs focused on Art & Design and Science & Engineering.
The National Saturday Club is a UK-wide network run by the Saturday Club Trust, and supported by Arts Council England and the Department for Education.
Higher Horizons+ Hub Manager Helen Norman said: “The Saturday Clubs will offer up to 30 weeks of inspiring classes over the academic year. Each week, members will be introduced to a range of different disciplines using the University’s specialist facilities which includes our £1.3m Smart Zone. This programme gives young people the opportunity to engage with subjects they love for free on Saturday mornings.

Helen added: “As places at the Clubs are limited, there is some eligibility criteria that applies and it’s important that families commit to the full 30-week programme.”
