Staffordshire University are joining with MOD partners to celebrate the work of the UK’s armed forces.
Armed Forces Week is an opportunity for us to thank all serving members of the armed forces for the work they do – and notably for the role they have played in the UK’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. On behalf of our University I’d also like to commend our MOD students on their impressive aptitude for learning which has seen 92 per cent of our recent MOD graduates gain a good degree classification.
The University has been an approved provider of degree programmes to the MOD since 2004 and currently has more than 1600 MOD students studying on a range of subjects including Aviation, Education, Engineering, Human Resources, Intelligence, IT, International Relations and Leadership and Management.
Working with the British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Royal Marines, provision includes 22 bespoke degree programmes that take into consideration military training and service and provide flexible study for service personnel that can be undertaken during their military service.
More than 1,800 MOD students have graduated from Staffordshire University over the last five years and some of them have completed their studies by distance learning while on deployment in remote areas of the world
Professor Ieuan Ellis, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Place and Engagement, said: “Our University is delighted to help prepare members of our armed forces with the education, knowledge and skills to help them progress through the ranks or for resettlement.”
