Unitemps at Staffs announced ‘branch of the year’

Staffordshire University has won ‘branch of the year’ title at the Unitemps Awards 2021.

Although the pandemic has been tough for employers in our area, we stepped up our operations, taking on additional staff, and our high level of service has been recognised in both client and candidate feedback. This title is fantastic recognition of these efforts and I am very proud of the team.

Marek Hornak, Head of Employer Partnerships and Enterprise

The win comes as Staffordshire University Unitemps celebrates its 6th year of partnership with Warwick University.

Unitemps at Staffordshire University has developed strong links with businesses across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, offering work opportunities to students, graduates and the wider community.

The award recognises the work of the Unitemps team during the pandemic when it added virtual internships to its offer to students and graduates and stepped up its activities to help employers find talented candidates for their business.

Marek Hornak, Head of Employer Partnerships and Enterprise, said: “Retaining graduates in Staffordshire is a key driver and providing students with valuable work experience aligned to their degrees and career aspirations is an important part of this.

“Although the pandemic has been tough for employers in our area, we stepped up our operations, taking on additional staff, and our high level of service has been recognised in both client and candidate feedback. This title is fantastic recognition of these efforts and I am very proud of the team.”

“The virtual internships were a particular success and we have introduced Summer Internships after identifying this as a current trend with companies.”

A strong online presence, webinars, how-to guides and support from student Brand Ambassadors have all added to the growth and success of Unitemps at Staffordshire University over the last 12 months.

Stephen Cottrell, Student Placement said: “I first heard of Unitemps through a positive experience a fellow student had. Through Unitemps I worked as a Marketing Executive, Content Creator and Graphic Designer, gaining valuable experience to further my career as well as financial gains to support my degree. Unitemps and the company have supported me with any issues I have had, I can’t recommend Unitemps enough.”
