I found the internship so informative. I was able to understand the importance of building relationships with people in the industry and importance of networking. I made so many friends, gained a lot of advice and invaluable lessons that I can take with me not only in terms of my future career but in life also.

Whilst many students were winding down during the summer holidays, final year BSc (Hons) Cyber Security student, Selestina Panzu, recently completed a summer internship at Avanade, a technology consulting company.

Avanade, a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft, helps to digitally transform their clients’ businesses through innovation and new technologies from analytics and AI to security and customer experience. Since it started in 2000, Avanade has become a leader in the services marketplace, training more than 38,000 highly skilled professionals to support thousands of clients.

Selestina said: “I found the internship so informative. I was able to understand the importance of building relationships with people in the industry and importance of networking. I made so many friends, gained a lot of advice and invaluable lessons that I can take with me not only in terms of my future career but in life also.”

Selestina says the internship has massively helped with their studies, such as presentation skills, public speaking and voicing opinions when it comes to discussions in lectures, which is all critical in their upcoming final year projects.
