Seven Staffordshire University subject areas have ranked in the top ten in one or more themes in the National Student Survey 2023.
We are grateful to all our students who provided their feedback as part of the National Student Survey and the findings will help us to shape the evolution of our learning and teaching and student experience.
The NSS in an independent survey that gathers final year undergraduate students' opinions on the quality of their course. The findings help prospective students make informed choices and provide institutions with data to continually improve on student experience.
The survey asked students to rank their courses across seven themes: teaching on my course, learning opportunities, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources, and student voice.
In the 2023 survey, Staffordshire University saw seven of its subject areas score a top ten ranking in at least one of the metrics.
These are:
- Biosciences ranked No.1 for academic support, No.6 for teaching on my course, and No.9 for assessment and feedback.
- Media, journalism and communications ranked no.6 for teaching on my course, and No.7 for assessment and feedback.
- Medical sciences ranked No.1 for teaching on my course, No.1 for learning opportunities, and No.9 for organisation and management.
- Performing arts ranked No.8 for learning opportunities.
- Psychology ranked No.8 for learning opportunities, and No.10 for assessment and feedback.
- Sociology, social policy and anthropology ranked No.4 for assessment and feedback.
- Sport and exercise sciences – ranked No.5 for teaching of my course, No.5 for assessment and feedback, and No.4 for academic support.
