We have a team of friendly, approachable Money & Guidance Advisors who can help you with any problems or questions you may have whilst studying at Staffordshire University.

You can talk to us about anything; whether it is a personal problem or an academic issue. We work closely with other teams within the University and also with external support agencies too.  Between the team we have many years of experience helping students to achieve their goals. We offer quality advice and guidance to you across a very broad range of issues:

If you're experiencing circumstances that are adversely affecting your studies, this procedure explains what you can do
The University's rules, regulations, and procedures relating to all aspects of your time with us
What to do if you have a complaint, or wish to appeal a decision that has been made by the University
Find out what the University means by this, and what it means for you
How we ensure any student who is required to repeat a year with us is aware of the support available to them in their studies

If you find yourself in financial difficulties during your time with us, we may be able to help
Support if you're struggling with being away from home

If you are struggling financially, there is help and advice available, please speak to a member of the team so we can find the best way to help you.  Alternatively, you can visit our Money Matters pages which have more information about the help we offer, and hints and tips on making your money go further.

Processes in the Student Lifecycle

If you are thinking of applying to take a break in studies or thinking about withdrawing from your course please contact the Money & Guidance Advisors.  We can help you with this process and talk to you about any financial implications.  Alternatively you can log in to e:vision, go to the 'My Applications and Course' section and under the 'Thinking of Taking Break or Withdrawing from Study' click on the contact form and complete the details requested and a Money & Guidance Advisor will contact you.

Student Welfare

We want to see you succeed in your studies however we do know that things can happen which may cause you problems or difficulties.  Contact the team if you are struggling or if you are worried about another student, we are here to help.

For all students - how to contact us

Drop-in or book an appointment with a Money & Guidance Advisor:

From Monday 4th July 2022 we are providing students with an opportunity to drop-in to see an advisor across the Stoke campus.  (Please note: no appointment required, just turn up)

Drop-ins:

Monday 9:30a.m. - 12:30 in C209, Catalyst Building, Leek Road

Wednesday 1:00 - 4:00p.m (Room to be confirmed on College Road)

Friday 9:30a.m. - 12:30 in Coalport, Leek Road, Stoke.

Appointments:

Alternatively, students can book an appointment (appointments will take place in the Trent Building, Leek Road, Stoke or via Microsoft Teams) available every Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon.​​​​​​​

The team is also available via Live Chat which is available from Monday to Friday from 2pm to 4pm and can be accessed by clicking the chat function on this page.
