At the University of Staffordshire we support our students who are carer’s:
Our definition of a student carer:
Students in HE who provide support to someone who could not manage without their care. This may involve supporting someone with an illness, disability, or physical/mental health issue. (Does not include parenting typically developing children, but does include siblings caring where a parent cannot.)
If you are a Student Carer please contact the Student Life (Advice) Team via the University's Solve Portal. Solve is the main way to reach the team for support. Please use the Solve Portal - https://solve.staffs.ac.uk/portal for any enquiries, including booking an appointment with the team.
In the meantime: help shape University of Staffordshire's new carers commitment
- Do you support someone at home who relies on you for their care?
- Do you provide support to a family member or friend who couldn’t manage without your help?
You might be a student carer — and we would love you to get involved.
Join our student carers focus group.
Help us design University of Staffordshire’s new Carers Commitment and improve support for student carers.
In the session we will:
-
Talk about your experiences
-
Identify what support would help
-
Shape the University’s approach
-
Make sure student voices lead this work
