The University documents published on this page are developed in close collaboration with our student body and the Students’ Union. These calendars illustrate the two different patterns typically adopted for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught programmes across the teaching year and include information such as when vacation periods fall.
Some courses and programmes may vary from these models, for example through mid-year assessment or alternative academic calendars, including healthcare courses leading to professional registration and PGCEs; your course team and programme documentation will indicate where this applies.
Postgraduate Research degrees have three entry points each year (September, January and April), operate across a 12-month academic year (365 days), and include an annual leave allowance of 25 days in addition to fixed University closure days. For Postgraduate Research students studying on a visa, annual leave must be taken in accordance with visa requirements.
