Cloud And Network Technologies

This module is intended to equip you with not only the knowledge but also the practical skills to be able to create and understand an enterprise grade network. The Syllabus incorporates the content of the Cisco CCNA qualification (Network fundamentals and routing/switching fundamentals). You will look at the transition which is taking place of moving corporate data and infrastructure to a Cloud based environment and ensuring that this meets the requirements of local legalization and locally defined security requirements. This module will make use of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academic Learning Environment to allow students to build confidence in Cloud computing.

Cyber Security And Artificial Intelligence

In this module, you will learn some fundamental mathematical principles of artificial intelligence and machine learning and learn and practice several techniques for building and testing machine learning models. You will also learn about the principles of an Artificial Neural Network and be able to articulate the operation of the fundamental components and how they interact. You will learn about evolutionary algorithms, techniques for building adaptive and self-learning ML models. You will also learn about how machine learning can be applied to search for optimal solutions using multiple agents. You will also learn fundamental principles of cyber security, as well as how these fit into the wider computing landscape. You will also learn about core cyber security technologies and techniques, and how these are used to secure a wide range of computational systems and networks.

Programming Concepts

In this module, you will begin an exciting journey of discovery that will lay the programming foundation for both your academic and professional career. You will focus on designing and developing programs in a current language, such as Java or Python, and web applications in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. On the way, you will also learn about analysing problems, modelling solutions, and testing programs. You will also experience industry-standard methods, and tools to develop applications.

Computing Project

This module will introduce to you real-world computing problems that exist in the business world. Case studies are extensively used in order you work within a team to investigate a problem and look to find best solutions from several options. In doing so you will develop both project management and research-based skills which will benefit you throughout your course. To help in your learning you will be provided accepted theory and approaches that you will attempt to put into practice. You will work within realistic teams with dedicated roles and will experience real world activities and tasks. Part of the module also focuses on careers and the requirements to gain the knowledge of background requirements within industry.

Networking Architecture

On this module you will learn why routing and switching are considered as part of the core of networking. Once the network is designed well for these technologies other features such as security can then be built upon this. This course will look in detail at the choices within routing and switching to see why design decisions are made and for you to understand these choices. The emphasis of this course will be from the viewpoint of a medium to large scale organisation.

In this module, you will develop the practical skills required to work as an ethical hacker and penetration tester. You will learn to think like an attacker, using the same tools and techniques employed by malicious hackers, but within strict legal and ethical boundaries to help organisations identify and fix their security weaknesses.

Ai Algorithms And Machine Learning

In this module, you will learn how to build and evaluate practical machine learning solutions to real-world problems. You will explore a range of core supervised and unsupervised algorithms, learn how to prepare and model data using contemporary tools, and develop the skills needed to compare, tune and justify different approaches. Within this module you will explore computing systems and development from an evaluation perspective. In doing so you will familiarise yourself on criteria that can form a testing benchmark. In establishing this you will then through case studies review applications to build a context on what needs and can be tested. Formally you will devise test plans and use these to test actual applications for their effectiveness. The module takes a strong basis on the Agile lifecycle.
