The Student Support and Experience Team is responsible for enhancing the student experience of all students studying at Staffordshire University, from transitioning through to HE, Welcome and engagement activities such as our One Staffs Café, and campaigns such as our Mindful Money. The team are also involved in events to support the student journey and experience.
We have a variety of events for the academic year 2021/22 some of which include the following:
Alongside these events we have workshops and masterclasses on topics such as money and budgeting and how to claim for extenuating circumstances and we have informal drop in's where you can meet the team, ask questions and seek advice.
The team also host the "One Staffs Cafe" which takes place every Wednesday from 5pm to 6.30pm in the Digital Kiln, 5th Floor, Mellor Building. The cafe is open to all students (and staff) and is designed to bring "Cultures and Communities together as One". Each week we have a different theme - Tea, Coffee and cakes and a friendly smile on offer. To keep up to date with the goings on at the Cafe. Our specialist Practitioners and Advisors provide group workshops and 1-2-1 information, advice, guidance, and pastoral support for students on a variety of areas including:
Appointments are available online (Microsoft teams) and in person. To see an advisor students are asked to complete our Student Support and Experience Team triage form and an advisor will be in touch.
