Our International Business Management course will provide you with the skills and expertise required to work in global business contexts.

There has never been a more exciting time to study International Business Management. With the rise in organisations expanding their operations to both trade and open subsidiaries internationally, you will need skills on a truly global scale.

Working across continents and countries requires a unique set of skills. These include cross-cultural communication, networking abilities, collaboration, interpersonal influence, adaptive thinking, emotional intelligence and resilience. You'll also have the opportunity to gain work experience in the UK or overseas, to further develop your skills and help fine-tune your future career path.

You can choose the BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) route depending on your focus. The BSc places more emphasis on data analytics whereas the BA emphasises building relationships for success in the workplace.

On successful completion of study, we will issue one of the following awards: BA (Hons) International Business Management or BSc (Hons) International Business Management.

Course content

You’ll study in our newly refurbished Business School, equipped with state-of-the-art learning spaces. The facilities replicate a real corporate environment with conference rooms, break-out zones and our new Collaboratory – an area that’s great for group work and discussions.

In your first year, you’ll learn fundamental business techniques and discover how organisations are grown. As your studies progress, you’ll go on to explore global marketing and learn how business is conducted in Europe, Asia and the Americas. We’ll teach you how to manage teams in other cultures and operate businesses effectively in global markets. You’ll develop the crucial traits needed in international business. As well as a thorough understanding of global business practices, you’ll also strengthen your softer skills, such as how to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, time management and decision-making.

The Foundation Year is designed to encourage non-standard entrants who may not meet the entry requirements. The Foundation Year addresses not only the foundations of business studies but also enables you to develop and enhance the skills needed to succeed in higher education. Following successful completion of the Foundation Year, students then progress onto the next 3 levels of study.
