Research centres

Our research centres are a hive of innovation and enterprise. A focal point for our research projects, they champion areas of strategic importance to the University. We have academics pioneering advances in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, microplastic pollution, forensic techniques and other specialist fields.

The centres provide a platform for our staff to engage in scholarly activity, take part in external research collaborations and share ideas. We introduce each centre below according to the interdisciplinary research theme it relates to.

We pride ourselves on the applied nature of our research work. We are a vibrant community of psychologists with a clear focus on ensuring that our work has meaning for the academic community as well as for those whom we research, practitioners, patients, policy makers and the wider public.

Staffordshire Centre of Learning and Pedagogic practice (SCoLPP)

Led by Prof Stella Jones-Devitt, SCoLPP strives to develop evidence-informed pedagogic practice in a collegial manner which connects learning and teaching to enhanced social mobility.
