Your University journey is taking shape. With your course secured and having considered your living options, it’s time to apply for University accommodation.
You can apply on our ResLife portal. Follow the instructions on the portal. If you have any problems, please see the step-by-step instructions below.
We are now accepting applications for academic year 2023/2024.
Before you apply for accommodation at Staffordshire University, please check that:
You've formally accepted your course offer through UCAS or the University.
You've waited at least 48 hours after this time. (allowing time to be processed)
You have your student reference number. This is the eight-digit number found on most correspondence from the University.
Once ready, it’s a good idea to apply as soon as possible. You’ll need to indicate your preferred choice of accommodation which we allocate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Visit the ResLife accommodation portal website.
Click register in the top left hand corner of the home page and follow the steps.
You’ll be sent an email, within 24 hours, with your validation code. Make sure you check your junk folder. Enter this code exactly as it appears in your email. If it's not there after 24 hours, please contact us at ResLife@staffs.ac.uk and we'll help you out.
You’ve now registered on our ResLife portal. This doesn’t mean you’ve applied for accommodation, just that you have an account with us. You can log into the portal at any time using the password you’ve set up.
It’s a good idea to know which accommodation you want to apply for before you begin your application. When you’re ready to apply, visit our ResLife portal again and log in. This will bring you to your dashboard.
Select Apply on the top navigation bar.
Select the academic year you wish to apply for and pick your application type.
Choose the pathway which best applies to what kind of student you are. This is so we can offer you the right accommodation. Make sure you select the correct pathway, otherwise your application may be rejected and you’ll have to apply again.
Select find out more next to your first preference of accommodation.
Check that it’s the right accommodation and scroll down to the bottom of the page. You can then click on apply to add it to your preferences. You'll need to add all of the different available accommodation options in preference order before you can move onto the next step. Your application will not be complete and we will not receive it if you do not add all available types of accommodation to your application.
Complete any further details, including medical conditions. You can also select if you prefer mixed or same gender sharing. We can’t guarantee being able to offer mixed accommodation due to numbers, but we’ll try our best for you.
Add any notes that you want us to see for your application. These should include anything you think may be relevant to your accommodation. This could be further information on medical conditions or special requests. If you have disclosed a medical condition that impacts your living environment, such as a hearing impairment or use of a wheelchair, we will need to know as much detail as possible so we can be sure we have the right accommodation for you.
If you want to be grouped together with friends or people you already know, make sure you all add the same group reference to your applications. This can be any word or code you all agree on such as "5 flat friends" or "John's group" for example.
Review your application to make sure that everything is correct to the best of your knowledge. Make sure that your preferences are correct and make a note of the start and end date as these are your move-in and move-out dates.
You can now scroll to the bottom of the page, and press submit to send your application to us.
