Staffordshire University has made a firm commitment to better support its technical workforce by signing up to the Technician Commitment.
Launched in 2017, the Technician Commitment is a national programme designed to support institutions in developing positive changes and addressing the challenges affecting technical staff.
Led by a steering group of sector bodies - with support from the Science Council and the Gatsby Charitable Foundation – the Commitment centres on four key areas aiming to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technicians working across all disciplines.
Staffordshire University employs 74 technicians across four of its five campuses, working in new and dynamic hubs covering diverse subject areas such as Ceramics, eSports, Games, Cyber Security, Nursing and Forensics.
