After you've applied

Once you've submitted your application you're probably wondering what's involved during the selection process and when you're likely to hear back.

There's a period of time where universities are considering all applications and finalising offers to applicants. Each university will make their decisions at different times so it's important to check your UCAS Hub.

Ensure you keep your contact details up-to-date on UCAS so you don't miss any notifications about your application.

Full-time undergraduate applications

For full-time applications, you'll be able to check the status of your offers in the UCAS Hub.

What happens next?

  1. UCAS checks your application

UCAS makes sure your application is complete and your payment has gone through. You’ll get an email confirming your application has been sent to your chosen universities.

  2. Universities receive your application

Each university you applied to gets your form and begins reviewing it. They'll consider your personal statement, your reference and your predicted grades.

  3. You may be asked to attend an interview or submit your portfolio

Depending on the subject, you may need to attend an interview online or in-person or showcase your portfolio.

  4. Universities make their decisions

You'll be updated on the UCAS hub and notified by email with the outcome of your offers.
