Residence Life

Residence Life strives to make your time at Staffordshire University-managed accommodation the best it can be. We promise to provide a safe, affordable and comfortable place to live - but why stop there?

The Residence Life team

Going out in the world by yourself doesn’t mean you have to be alone. We have a dedicated team to make sure you settle in and help you get started with university life.

Housekeeping

While living with us, you and your flatmates are responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of the communal areas. Our friendly team of Residence Life Housekeepers will offer lots of hints and tips to help make things a little bit easier. Flats that have a great record of cleanliness may even get a treat!

Maintenance

If you’ve any maintenance issues (e.g. a light has stopped working) you don't have to go out and replace the bulb yourself. Just inform our Residence Life team and they’ll fix the issue as soon as possible. We aim to make safe any critical maintenance issues within four hours and rectify the issue within five working days. Routine maintenance may take slightly longer, depending on demand at the time.

Residence Life Assistants (RLAs)

You’ll be well looked after by our Residence Life Assistants who are close at hand if you need them. They often stay in our student accommodation and make sure everyone is happy and settled. As students who have been at the University for at least a year, they know exactly what it's like to start a new adventure! They're the people to go to if you need help finding the best supermarket in the area, ideas for a good night out or even where to do your laundry. If you just want a cuppa and a chat, our RLAs can help you out.

Residental Support Coordinators

We also have a team of Residential Support Coordinators, who are available to support  you throughout the evenings during term time. They are experienced with dealing with lots of things that students may be feeling whether that is loneliness, low mood or an emergency crisis, and can be contacted through our Campus Security team.

What we do

Residence Life is more than a place to stay, it’s about giving you new opportunities and life skills. We organise lots of exciting activities where you’ll meet people and learn something new.

When you move into one of our residences, you're not just moving home, you're becoming a part of a new community. We encourage a community atmosphere within residences as well as throughout the campus and the local area. Our team works closely with the local community and often get involved with charity fund raising activities.
