Residence Life, or 'ResLife' for short, strives to make your time at Staffordshire University the best it can be. We promise to provide a safe, affordable and comfortable place to live - but why stop there?
You’ll be living with friendly, smart, funny, caring people from all over the world and we aim to build on this to create a community you’ll be part of.
ResLife is more than a place to stay, it’s about giving you new opportunities and life skills. We organise lots of exciting activities where you’ll meet people and learn something new.
When you move into one of our residences, you're not just moving home, you're becoming a part of a new community. We encourage a community atmosphere within residences as well as throughout the campus and the local area. Our team works closely with local groups such as the YMCA, where we put on a community meal for close to 100 local people.
You’ll be well looked after by our ResLife Coordinators who are close at hand if you need them. They stay in our student accommodation and make sure everyone is happy and settled. As students who have been at the University for at least a year, they know exactly what it's like to start a new adventure! They're the people to go to if you need help finding the best supermarket in the area, ideas for a good night out or even where to do your laundry. If you just want a cuppa and a chat, our RLCs can help you out.
While living with us, you and your flatmates are responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of the communal areas. Our friendly team of ResLife Assistants will offer lots of hints and tips to help make things a little bit easier.
If you’ve any maintenance issues (e.g. a light has stopped working) you don't have to go out and replace the bulb yourself. Just inform our ResLife team and they’ll fix the issue as soon as possible. We aim to make safe any critical maintenance issues within four hours and rectify the issue within five working days. Routine maintenance may take slightly longer, depending on demand at the time.
Where you live is a big part of being at university, which is why Staffordshire is one of several universities that has signed-up to The Student Accommodation Code. The Code underpins our ongoing dedication to our students to make sure you get the best out of your time living in our residences. The Code protects our students’ rights to safe, good quality accommodation. It outlines everything students can expect from our accommodation as well as their responsibilities.
