Iba (Hons) Business accelerated (Fast-track two years)

Selecting Staffordshire University, as my University of choice, provided me with endless opportunities, learning off the lecturers who all carry out research, building on their industrial experience, thus enhancing the teaching experiences.

Currently I am applying for graduate jobs ready for next year. I have now got a clear idea of where I want my future to go in terms of work. Thanks to the support and guidance at Staffordshire University, it has not only increased my confidence in my own skills and ability, but also inspired me to push myself in the work place.

Graduate, BA (Hons) Sports Development and Coaching (Former title of our Sports Coaching degree)

The University is great at helping students develop communication skills, either written, oral or presentation. The use of interactive presentations, videos and social media platforms also built an interactive learning environment that increases learner engagement.

The lecturers also engage with students individually or in small groups which allows you to have an active role and grow in motivation and participation while on the course.

The University has also got some great relationships with leading institutions in the sporting industry, so my advice would be to get as much work experience as you can and make it worthwhile.

Event Management

I started looking around at what options were available in terms of universities and when I attended Staffs Open Day I felt comfortable and like I could fit in here. Since coming to the University, I can definitely say that I made the right choice, the teaching staff are so supportive and encouraging and they have definitely helped me get to where I am now. I was encouraged to try new things and to step out of my comfort zone with a placement year which took me to America! There is a huge sense of community within the University and I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.

English and Creative Writing

Before going to university I’d never really understood what I was capable of. Staffordshire University was such an encouraging environment that I felt safe enough to test myself and explore new ways of thinking.

If I hadn’t been to Staffs, I would never have had that life-changing experience and I would never have had the courage to submit my writing to agents and publishers.

Joining Staffordshire University Business School has turned out to be the best decision I’ve made in relation to my career and future prospects. The team at the business school have been amazing and continue to offer me all of the encouragement I could ever want to aim towards a first class degree. Something I couldn’t have even imagined a year before in the world of sales management.

Sociology

Deciding to study sociology was the best decision I could have made, not only has it changed my perspective on life for the better, it has helped me to grow in confidence and self-esteem.

The staff at Staffordshire University are very passionate about their chosen subject areas and they pass this passion on to their students, creating a wonderful learning environment. Being at Staffs has opened my mind to learning again, and I would encourage anybody to do it. You are never too old to learn.

Staffs can offer you something that many cannot – genuine and caring lecturers who adore the discipline, have done it for years and see it as much more than a job.

The lecturers became like proud parents and I think that says a lot about the course culture.
