Dr Justine Drakeford

Job Title and Responsibilities

Senior Lecturer in Psychology

About Me

I graduated from Keele University with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Biology, before completing my PhD. My PhD (Titled: Episodic memory, recognition memory and conscious recollection in schizophrenia: an investigation across modalities) was supervised by Professor Femi Oyebode (University of Birmingham) and Dr Nicola Edelstyn (University of Keele) and awarded by the University of Birmingham in 2006. I then went on to do post-doctoral research with Dr Nicola Edelstyn at the University of Keele where I was involved in a number of research projects including: (i) A study investigating psychological processes in visually hallucinating and non-visually hallucinating patients with Parkinson’s disease; and (ii) A controlled investigation of recognition memory, conscious recollection, familiarity-aware memory and executive impairment in patients with Parkinson’s disease (in collaboration with Professor Andrew Mayes, University of Manchester). After this, I worked as an associate lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University (Crewe campus), and then became a senior lecturer at the University of Huddersfield.  I joined Staffordshire University as a senior lecturer in January 2012.
