Project Story

Located on the University’s College Road site in Stoke-on-Trent, the Performance Centre, which is home to the University’s Acting and Drama courses, is made up of various professional-grade performance and workshop spaces. This includes its 70-seater ‘Studio One’ location, as well as costume and set design workshops and the student green room.

Refurbishment works will see various interior and exterior improvements carried out ranging from roofing works and sustainable LED lighting installations through to window refurbishments and floor renovations made across the building.

Key Features

Performance Centre

Major upgrading works to the building including:

  • Re-felt and insulation of the roof.
  • New LED lighting throughout to support the University Sustainability goals.
  • Full renovation to all floor finishes including the timber floors.
  • Refurbishment of the existing metal windows, and colourful upgrade to the exterior.
  • New secondary glazing to the existing windows.
  • Building repairs and decoration.

Drama Studio 1

Major upgrading works to the building including:

  • New LED lighting throughout to support the University Sustainability goals.
  • Full renovation to all floor finishes including the timber floors.
  • New single insulated windows.
  • Building repairs and decoration.

We have had significant investment to undertake a major refurbishment of the Performance Centre and some upkeep to Studio One to improve the student experience. We know our Performing Arts students will enjoy these amazing improvements to their day-to-day experience and can’t wait for them to see the transformed performance centre when the new term begins.
