CyberKiln

Founder, Chris Daniels, tells how renting an office space in brand-new Incubator and Accelerator Centre has allowed them to work better with clients.

Company Overview

CyberKiln is a bespoke web and software development company based in Stoke-on-Trent. CyberKiln is passionate about its clients, using the power of the latest technology and over 24 years of industry experience to build websites and apps from scratch to suit every client’s individual needs.

Funded Business Support

CyberKiln accessed business support: The Innovation Enterprise Zone Incubator and Accelerator.

Steve Hargreaves, Employer Partnerships Development Manager at Staffordshire University, manages the Incubator and Accelerator Centre, which is based in Staffordshire University’s Stoke campus, offering access to specialist facilities and academic expertise for early-stage companies. Such facilities include office spaces of all sizes, modern places to meet clients, advanced materials equipment, robotic arms, and a selection of 3D printers.

Access to the Stoke Campus, office spaces, and technology have supported CyberKiln in hosting meetings with clients. For example, The Creative Lab has allowed the team to bring in clients and rapidly prototype and negotiate deals to dish out high-quality products.

Project Outcome

CyberKiln has received a lot of PR and good reputational gain from being involved with Staffordshire University at an early stage. The relationship developed from working with the University also has allowed CyberKiln to host networking events and join in the annual Expo event, supporting the growth of their local business.

As part of being a tenant of Staffordshire University, CyberKiln has had tailored innovation programmes to help grow its business. For example, a new product idea has come to life through prototyping, which will continue to grow to market through future programmes.

Steve Hargreaves explains how all businesses are welcome if they are innovative, looking to develop new products and services, and are looking to work with Staffordshire University.

The Staffordshire University business incubator space has been of fantastic value to my business - from the support of providing links to key partners, the facilities available to the business that we use regularly with our clients, and the geared innovation programs. I have shared my positive experience with many within my network and I will continue to endorse it in the future.
