Laura Birkett

Lecturer In Paramedic Science

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

I am a lecturer in the paramedic team, my background is in health care, predominantly the NHS.

I started work in 2007 as a Healthcare Assistant at York District Hospital, my interest grew from that point. I attended the university of Wolverhampton where I graduate in 2019 with a degree in Paramedic Science. I started work with SWAST as a Newly Qualified Paramedic. I continued to work on the front line during the pandemic and then moved to YAS in 2020. I continued working in pre-hospital care until my career change to higher education
