Academic Quality and Development

I support on course design, including the design sprint process, support and guidance creation, and working closely with colleagues across the institution. I have a keen interest in inclusive education and developing spaces for honest conversations focused on enhancement.

Prior to joining Staffordshire University, I was Vice President Education at the University of Derby for 2 consecutive terms. During my tenure, I had particular focus on student engagement within the deliberative structure and was involved with the development of the Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy.

I was involved on work related to gaining the SOS-UK Responsible Futures institutional accreditation, as well as working on embedding the UN Sustainable Development Goals within the curriculum.

Nationally and internationally, I am a Reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), engaging with reviews both in England and internationally as part of the International Quality Review Process. I have been a Student Panel Member for the 2023 round of TEF, and both roles have provided me with experience of different approaches to Higher Education.
