This means they are in the last stages of the validation process, awaiting final approval. Validation is a rigorous process undertaken with academic staff, students, independent subject experts, and employers. It ensures the course is of high quality, and able to prepare students well for their future employment or further study.

Programming is the foundation of all software reliant sectors, and this is certainly true for the games industry. Without the all-important skills of software engineering, the modern games studio would not be possible. 

The MSc Games Computing course at University of Staffordshire has been developed to foster a high level of advanced technical mastery with technologies at the forefront of the discipline. The MA/MSc by Research in Games Design and Development is a research-focused programme tailored for students who want to explore cutting-edge topics in games development, games technologies, or games art. The MA/MSc Professional Games Development is a flexible, part time course aimed at individuals currently working in or connected to the games industry. It is a work-based distance learning course designed around you. This is a unique programme is designed to support the professional development of industry employees, such as games developers, Educators, Simulation developers, and anyone in a related field.  

On this course, students negotiate a project with their supervisor and employer based on their current role. You’ll then undertake a body of learning and assessment supported by 1:1 tutorials and seminars in support of the development of your portfolio.
