At Staffordshire University, we are powering the future of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, the work-based route to higher education which offers on-the-job training alongside a qualification, opening doors to a range of careers opportunities for the apprentice and helping employers to develop their workforce and shape the future of their business.

An apprenticeship is a job with training to industry standards. Any apprenticeship should be in a recognised occupation and involve a substantial programme of on and off-the-job training. At the end of the apprenticeship, the apprentice’s occupational competence, covering knowledge skills and behaviours will be tested by an independent, end point assessment.

We partner with employers and industry to continually work toward introducing new apprenticeships to our portfolio.

A dedicated space for our higher degree apprentices

As part of our commitment to work-based learning, we're excited to announce a new learning space on campus, the Catalyst building. The Catalyst building will bring together the delivery of apprenticeships and skills and help to meet employer demand in a flexible, high-quality, digitally enabled space. 

European Social Fund

European Social Fund (ESF), an executive agency of the Department for Education, part fund the delivery of certain Staffordshire University non-levy apprenticeships training in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 academic year as match funding for the 2014-20 ESF programme. Established by the European Union, the European Social Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regenerations.
