Senior Lecturer

School of Justice, Security and Sustainability

As a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Staffordshire Business School, I am responsible for Accounting and Finance Award and I teach Auditing, Financial and Management Accounting, Taxation, Finance, governance, and ethics on undergraduate and postgraduate awards. Additionally, I also supervise dissertations at the master's level and support several undergraduate and postgraduate students during their time spent studying at the University in my capacity as an academic mentor. I earned an MA and PhD (in view) in Accounting & Finance from London Metropolitan University's Guildhall School of Business and Law. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). I am an external examiner for UK Universities and participate in the awards validation panel both in undergraduate and postgraduate awards within further and higher education institutions.

Prior to joining Staffordshire University, I worked as an Accountant in the public and private sectors. In the public sector, I prepared and monitored the budget (capital and revenue) and the closing of year-end accounts, and I provided technical advice to finance and non-finance managers and maintained good working relationships with the auditors. In the private sector, I engaged audit procedures to test balances, forensic audit, self-assessments, company statutory year-end account CT600s, Inheritance Tax and Capital Tax (etc.) with submission to HMRC and tax planning for clients.
