I joined Staffordshire Business School in September 2017 as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. I am the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance Award Leader, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. I earned an MA in International Finance and PhD (submitted) in Efficient Markets and Investor Behaviour. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). I am an external examiner for UK Universities and participate in the awards validation panel for undergraduate and postgraduate awards within further and higher education institutions. Prior to joining Staffordshire University, I worked as a Chartered Accountant in the public and private sectors. In the public sector, I prepared and monitored the budget (capital and revenue), provided technical advice to finance and non-finance managers, and maintained good working relationships with the auditors. In the private sector, I engaged audit procedures to test balances, forensic audits, self-assessments, company statutory year-end account CT600s, Inheritance Tax and Capital Tax (etc.) with submission to HMRC and tax planning for clients.

I have worked extensively within corporate programmes generating income and developing and delivering bespoke and professional training to employers such as Small Business Leadership Programme, Help to Grow Project and Staffordshire County Council Regulation Research.

I took over the running of the Accounting and Finance Award and gained the professional course accreditation for the ACCA, CIMA and ICEAW programmes.

I have extensive experience working with both UK and International partners.
