I joined Staffordshire Business School in September 2017 as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. I am the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance Award Leader, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. I earned an MA in International Finance and PhD (submitted) in Efficient Markets and Investor Behaviour. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). I am an external examiner for UK Universities and participate in the awards validation panel for undergraduate and postgraduate awards within further and higher education institutions. Prior to joining Staffordshire University, I worked as a Chartered Accountant in the public and private sectors. In the public sector, I prepared and monitored the budget (capital and revenue), provided technical advice to finance and non-finance managers, and maintained good working relationships with the auditors. In the private sector, I engaged audit procedures to test balances, forensic audits, self-assessments, company statutory year-end account CT600s, Inheritance Tax and Capital Tax (etc.) with submission to HMRC and tax planning for clients.
