Our wide industry network provides opportunities throughout your course

Get ahead of the game in one of the fastest-growing markets in the world with our undergraduate and postgraduate esports courses.

At Staffordshire University, we will prepare you for a career in esports. Focusing on the business side of the industry, our undergraduate and postgraduate courses will teach you how to host small and large-scale events for single player and multi-player teams, create business plans to develop teams, create online communities, create a technical understanding of processes involved within broadcasting and promote your events through digital marketing.

Want to study esports in the European capital of technology? At Staffordshire University, we understand that being in the centre of growing industries is just as important as the latest facilities and expert academics. That’s why in 2019, we have opened Staffordshire University London, an extension of the Staffordshire University campus in the creative hub of Here East, Stratford. We have brought together a bespoke Esports Arena and fully equipped Control Room, our pioneering undergraduate and postgraduate esports degrees, and our expert academics and put them together in the heart of the digital sector – giving you the best chance of succeeding in a competitive industry.

In our undergraduate esports degree, you will gain the experience and skills to kick-start your career. In the first year you’ll plan a single player event, explore the culture of competitive gaming, learn technical skills for broadcasting, and explore current issues within the esports sector. In year two this progresses to a team player event, creating and managing teams, video editing and content creation, and the integrity of esports. The third year the event will be a large scale, commercial venue event with team players and a prize fund, you will also explore digital marketing and analytics within esports.

You can continue your studies into the esports industry in our postgraduate master’s degree, readying yourself for a job in esports management. You’ll learn strategic level management skills, influencing policies and practices in the industry and developing a critical awareness of the sociological, political and legal landscape.

Whatever you choose to study, you’ll be working in a state-of-the-art environment. You will be taught in a dedicated Esports Lab and Pro Gamer training facility with all the latest industry standard software and hardware.
