Carl Hambleton-Ratcliffe

Lecturer

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

I have recently retired from Staffordshire Police as their Head of Professional Standards and Anti-Corruption departments, having spent the majority of my career within Response Policing, Neighbourhood Policing and in the Partnerships/Safeguarding arena.

In addition, I was also an accredited Hostage/Crisis Negotiator, Tactical Firearms Commander and Silver Public Order/Public Safety Commander. I have overseen many events, for example, the V Festival, Royal/VIP visits and spontaneous environmental protests. I am proud to say that I was fully operational until my last day of service!

I have also worked on several national initiatives, the most notable being to introduce the concept of wellbeing to policing, an area in which I still have an interest.
