Dr Richard Ahumibe has a PhD in Management Studies and an MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of Liverpool. A passionate scholar and practitioner who strives to make valuable contributions to industry and academia through education, research, and consultancy, he extensively researched the impact of industry regulations on supply chain design and performance in his doctoral work. Richard began his teaching career during his PhD studies and has since taught at institutions such as the University of Liverpool and Edge Hill University. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Law and Arden University and a Consultant at Kaplan Open Learning. Before transitioning to academia, Richard gained over 12 years of valuable industry experience in Europe and Africa, working for notable companies, including British American Tobacco, Danone, AstraZeneca, and private consultancy. He managed operations and led projects in procurement, logistics, materials and inventory management, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems implementation. Richard is an enthusiast of humanist teaching philosophy and adaptive learning approaches. He teaches various courses in Business and Management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, International Business, Business Strategy, Organizational Behaviour, Business Innovation, and Sustainability. Richard is an active member of the British Academy of Management (BAM), the Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM), the International Network of Customs Universities (INCU), and an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
