About Me

I am very proud to be Head of  Education at Staffordshire University.

I am currently the Head of Education at Staffordshire University. A hands-on background in teaching and management in the compulsory school sector, Further Education and Higher Education has provided me with a range of experiences and knowledge of education policy and sector demands. In addition to being part of the School of Life Science and Education’s Senior Leadership Team I work both nationally and internationally in supporting partner institutions to development educational leadership and management; teaching and student experience.

Research Interests

My PhD was titled “University tuition fee increases: the influence of increasing fees on students entering Higher Education; student and staff expectations; and the potential revolution in the culture of Higher Education. A case study within an English post 1992 University”

In house developments on the effective use of virtual learning environments and how they can be used to support non-traditional learners in HE is both a research and learning and teaching interest.

In addition my research interests include school culture, leadership, management and workforce remodelling.  Furthermore approaches to learning, cooperative learning and learning study.
