Indonesia Summer School

THIS VISIT IS NOW FULL FOR THE 2023/24 ACADEMIC YEAR SU Global in conjunction with our partner Universitas Airlangga are able to offer students a 4 week cultural and academic experience in Surabaya, Indonesia. 16 student places available.

The experience is open to all Staffordshire University students but is limited to 16 student places.  You will need to apply for a place, making clear what you hope to learn from your intended participation in this programme.  Contact SU Global Connections for further information and an application form.

The programme, delivered in Surabaya, Indonesia by Universitas Airlangga, includes interactive lectures/in-class activities, workshops, site visits and opportunities for cultural immersion.   

SU Global in conjunction with our partner Universitas Airlangga are able to offer students a 4 week cultural, work and volunteer experience in Surabaya.  Certain aspects of the trip may require walking for long distances on uneven pathways.

The experience is open to all Staffordshire University students.

Surabaya

Surabaya is a port city situated on the Indonesian island of East Java. The city is vibrant with a sprawling metropolis and modern skyscrapers.  The city also has many canals and buildings from the Dutch colonial era. Surabaya is the 2nd largest city in Indonesia, after Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. Surabaya is only a 70 minute flight from Jakarta.

Covid -19 Information

Travel to Indonesia is permitted according to the travel rules for England as listed on the UK Government’s website. Further information/guidance can be found on the FCDO webpage for Indonesia.

All participating students will receive up to date Covid and general travel advice by email and in pre-departure briefing sessions (mandatory attendance).
