What better way to spend your summer than in Bangkok, Thailand! From its incredible cultural heritage and mind-blowing temples such as the grand Wat Arun or the iconic Wat Phra Kaew, to its street foods and buzzing vendors at places like Chatuchak Weekend Market, there are many reasons to visit Bangkok.
SU Global Connections offers a 4 week summer school for Staffordshire University students, delivered by Mahidol University International College (MUIC). MUIC, located in Bangkok, Thailand, offers a range of international undergraduate and graduate programmes from its impressive campus located on the outskirts of Bangkok. The Summer School is delivered in July for 4 weeks. You can choose from 3 options, with classes delivered either all in a morning or afternoon, leaving you plenty of time to explore Bangkok. There are 3 summer schools delivered by MUIC:
- Introduction to Thai Language and Culture
- Perspectives on the Thai Past
- Diversity, Cross-Cultural, and Expatriate Management

Costs
The cost of the programme is approximately £625 (SU Global Connections may be able to provide Turing Scheme funding to help towards the cost of the programme, flights and accommodation).
The fee charged by Mahidol University International College includes:
- Tuition fee and related visits
- Official transcript
- Airport pick up and send off
- Cultural activities:
- Thai Boxing (Muay Thai)
- Thai Performance
- Authentic Thai Cuisine Workshop
- Welcome and farewell lunch or dinner
- Welcome package

MUIC will support you in securing accommodation near to the university and have advised that the usual cost is in the range of £250 - £350 (more expensive accommodation usually includes use of a swimming pool and/or on-site gym). A link to MUIC accommodation services is available here.
You will need to book and pay for flights to Bangkok, Thailand.
You will also need to budget for food and local transportation (costs are cheaper than in the UK)
