Course outline

The module content is delivered using seminar groups, key note lectures and group workshops.  Workshops will be supported by material accessed through Blackboard, the University‚Äôs Virtual Learning Environment. Students will contribute to the workshop themes to enhance their development.

Students will be required to complete some independent study prior to each learning day, as this will aid them to both complete the independent study hours as well as enhancing their learning which will help them when completing the module assignment.

Entry requirements

You will be a registered nurse, social worker or any allied professional who has undertaken level 5 study work.

Course content

This module helps you to understand the process of a research design and the steps within this procedure, such as methodology, methods of data collection and the importance of reflectivity.

Throughout you will explore both the generic and essential use of research in health and social care.
