Online enrolment

Whether you’re a new or returning student, you must complete the online enrolment. This will start you on the process to becoming an official Staffordshire University student.

When your course is ready for you to complete your enrolment, you will receive a separate email with your enrolment invitation. These invitations are being sent out over the course of late July and early August. Please make sure you keep checking your email account.

Once you have received your email providing you with a username and password, you need to visit e:VisionStaffs (our student portal) and follow the steps to complete online enrolment. Don’t worry, it only takes about 15 minutes. If you haven't received this email, please contact our Enquiries Team on +44(0)1782 294400.

If you are struggling with online enrolment, please see our FAQs below.

Do I need to complete online enrolment?

Yes! All students starting a new programme of study are required to complete online enrolment.

During online enrolment you will be guided through a series of screens. You'll be asked to confirm your personal details, you'll find information about your tuition fees (if applicable) and you'll upload a photo for your Student ID Card.

When can I begin online enrolment?

You'll receive an email from us inviting you to enrol online.  In this email we’ll provide you with your username and password. The email will be sent to the correspondence email address you provided at the point of application.

What will I need to complete it?

Completing online registration will take about 15 minutes, and you'll need:

  • Your Staffordshire University student ID number, which can be found on any formal email correspondence from the University.
  • A digital photograph for your Student ID Card (maximum file size 10MB and it can be any of BMP; GIF; JPEG; JPG; PNG.)
  • Two forms of ID.  One must be your passport, birth certificate or Biometric Residence Permit and the other could be be a driving licence, National identity card, College ID card, bank card, or utilities bill (which includes your name and address).  All students are expected to provide at least one form of photo ID.
  • Unless you are paying your own fees, you will need to provide your account details (in order for the University to make any payment to you that you may be eligible for).
  • A valid credit/debit card to arrange payment of your fees (this will only be required if you are liable to pay fees or are waiting for your student finance to be confirmed).
  • Please note that if you have a sponsor other than Student Finance England, you'll need to upload a sponsorship letter as proof when you complete the tuition fee stage. If you have difficulty doing this, please email your letter to

What if I am unable to complete it before I arrive?

To ensure a smooth registration process, we encourage all students to complete as many of the online enrolment steps as possible before arrival - particularly the Student ID Card section in step two.

However, if you're unable to complete online enrolment prior to your arrival, don't panic. Staff will be on hand at your face-to-face enrolment session to help you through the process and answer any financial queries you may have.

I need help!

While you're completing online enrolment, you can click on the “?” icons for further guidance about particular sections.

If you're stuck, staff will be on-hand on your arrival day to help you get sorted.

If you're unable to wait until then and you can't find the information you're looking for on our enrolment webpages, please contact

If you've forgotten your password before you've fully completed online enrolment, or think you may have been locked out of your account, please call Digital Services (IT support) on 01785 353800.

What next?

After completing online enrolment, most students are required to enrol in person. For more information see our face-to-face enrolment section.

Do I need to upload a photo?

As part of the online enrolment process, you'll be asked to upload a photo of yourself for your Student ID Card.

You're encouraged to complete this step as early as possible so that we can have your Student ID Card ready when you arrive.

You'll be notified of where and when to collect your Student ID Card at your face-to-face-enrolment or through your course area.

You’ll be given your student card when you do face-to-face enrolment. If for some reason it is not ready, provided we have your photo on record, we can produce one while you wait.
