Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) Room Home About Facilities Technical Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) Room A dedicated room for fingerprint identification, comparison, and optical enhancement. The AFIS system allows Input of individual fingerprints or palm-prints, taken from mock crime scenes or trace evidence, which are then compared automatically with the internal database of known and unknown prints. The room also contains a digital capture system, (DCS5) DCS is a comprehensive imaging system for the visualisation, photography, and enhancement of almost any type of fingerprint on any surface or background to ensure that maximum detail is revealed.
