Inaugural Professorial Lecture by Professor Mohamed Sedky, Professor of Cyber-Physical Systems

The research in cyber-physical systems is a growing area of application of computing for interfacing and data gathering on a large scale across ad hoc networks, with analysis and commercial exploitation of that data.

Intelligent machines live with us: they nurture from our data. But do we accept them, or do we look to them with suspect that they might rebel? While artificial intelligence is still in its infancy, we need to learn the nature of artificial intelligence, its maturity level and what to do when they will supersede the human’s intelligence.

We don’t have to let AI-phobia stop us from unleashing the power of intelligent machines.

What can be done? This talk shares a vision that takes full advantage of AI's wonderful capabilities while improving our intelligence at the same time.
