Ephias Ruhode

Senior Lecturer

Business School

Dr Ephias Ruhode joined the University of Staffordshire in 2026 following a career in higher education spanning nearly two decades. Before joining Staffordshire, he was a Lecturer in Digital Business Transformation at the University of the West of Scotland and an Associate Professor at Wits Business School, University of the Witwatersrand and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (both in South Africa).

His research explores digital transformation, the adoption and governance of artificial intelligence, and the use of information and communication technologies to address development challenges. His interests also include digital entrepreneurship, agritech, knowledge management in disaster response and information systems for community health. He is a globally engaged scholar who has published research in these areas and shared his work through conference presentations and keynote addresses.

Ephias has supervised several doctoral candidates and MPhil/MRes research students to completion, and has examined many doctoral and master’s theses. He brings this research experience into his teaching and supervision, helping students connect academic ideas with practical challenges.
