I am a local girl, living my whole life in Staffordshire.
I graduated from Staffordshire University in 1992 with a degree in Information Systems. I’ve worked for the NHS, Stafford College and started teaching at Staffordshire University in 1999.
I’ve been an external examiner for Sheffield Hallam, worked with the OU on some of their validation events, and given talks on web development and getting girls into computing. If anyone would like me to give a talk, please contact me, and I’d be happy to chat about it.
I am enthusiastic about the web and web standards, love the idea of Progressive Web Apps, and am looking at the ‘Power of JavaScript’, and how frameworks can be standardised across application domains. I truly believe in #UseThePlatform and giving users the best user experience possible.
I think that people should work hard and have lots of fun at university.
