Helen Ibrahim

Work Based Education Officer

Health, Education, Policing and Sciences

As a Work Based Education Officer in the Institute of Policing, I provide personalised support for students enrolled on the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship.

Prior to this role, I enjoyed an extensive career in education. As a graduate, I initially worked in field studies education as Head of Geography at Lochranza Field Studies Centre on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. Here I developed my passion for teaching and learning and went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

I worked in secondary education for many years, providing both pastoral and academic support to students. Later in my career, I qualified as a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) and was responsible for the strategic development of SEND provision for students with additional needs.

In addition, to my experience in SEND, I have worked as a Subject Mentor, supporting the professional development of PGCE students against professional teaching standards.
