As Full-Time Student Officer (Vice President) at Staffordshire Students' Union for the 2026/27 academic year, Zain leads on formal representation and advocacy, with a particular focus on international students. He works alongside the wider Officer team to ensure every student's voice is heard and that the university experience is one of genuine belonging.
Zain's route into student representation began as a Course Representative, a role he sees as foundational to how he now approaches advocacy, listening closely, following through, and making sure student concerns translate into real change. He holds an MSc in Business Computing and, as an international student himself, brings first-hand experience of the challenges of building a life and a community from scratch in a new country.
This personal journey shaped his campaign, run under the slogan "Your Voice Matters, and I Will Make It Heard," and continues to drive his commitment to supporting students through the adjustments that come with studying far from home. Zain also serves as a Trustee of Staffordshire Students' Union, contributing to the governance and strategic direction of the organisation he represents.
