Midwifery Skills Lab

The Midwifery Lab enables delivery of all Simulation-Based Education and practical Clinical Skills in support of the School of Health, Science and Wellbeing's midwifery course.

The Midwifery Skills Lab has evolved into an exciting resource for Technical Services and the School of Health, Science and Wellbeing. The lab provides a safe environment for students to simulate clinical practice using hi-fidelity simulation right through to dedicated specialist task trainers. All resources allow students to gain knowledge through different learning styles, enhancing their clinical knowledge and academic theory, and preparing them for optimum patient safety within their profession. Role play, simulation and practical skills facilitate clinical scenarios, enabling students to gain experience, competency and confidence with the midwifery environment. The area is predominantly used by Midwifery but is also utilised by other professional courses within the School of Health, Science and Wellbeing.
