Clinical Skills Labs

The Skills Labs enable delivery of all practical-led simulation and clinical skills in support of Nursing (Adult, Child, MH), Paramedic Science, ODP, Midwifery and Allied Health.

The Clinical Skills Labs within the School of Health, Science and Wellbeing bring to life academic content via Simulation-Based Education. Using state of the art hi-fidelity simulators and healthcare resources alongside task trainers, the labs allow for clinical skills to be performed to enable students to gain confidence and competency in their practical skills.

Patient safety is a priority within healthcare and the Skills Labs facilitate student learning within a safe environment, enabling them to develop the skills required to deliver optimum care.

Various skills sessions are delivered throughout the suite of Skills Labs, including Moving & Handling, Medicine Management, Life Support and other clinical skills/simulation relating specifically to the individual programme needs. The lab facilities can be designed to accommodate different lab environments, in order to compliment the professional course they support.

The labs are used by Nursing (Adult, Child, Mental Health), Paramedic Science, Operating Department Practice, Midwifery and Allied Health programmes.
