Sport and Exercise Bodily Fluids Laboratory

A laboratory offering a range of bodily fluid tests that can be used to monitor health and disease status, sports performance, and muscular injury.

Our bodily fluids carry a lot of information that we can use to test our state of health. There are several different bodily fluids we can measure and analyse – two popular measures used in this laboratory being blood and urine. The bodily fluids laboratory enables students the opportunity to learn how to administer a range of blood and urine tests that can be used to analyse an individual’s hydration status, lipid profile, haematology, and other blood biochemical markers, such as lactate and creatine kinase.

This laboratory is used during undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and enterprise activities.
