The nature of professional education is constantly changing; professionals need to ensure that they are up to date in their knowledge and practice in order to maintain current registration through re-validation and continuing professional development. This module enables you to look at current national and professional documentation in relation to health and social care education and provides an opportunity to explore how these might impact in the workplace setting, thus contributing to CPD requirements.
Students undertaking this module would normally be employed within the health or social care sector and successful completion of this module / award would be for personal and professional Continuing Professional Development.
A professional health or social care qualification / IELTS score 7
This module is for any Health or Social Care Practitioner who has educational responsibilities within the workplace and completion of this module would be for personal and professional Continuing Professional Development
The focus of this module is on the importance of understanding the political and professional context in which healthcare education is delivered in practice; this will then provide confidence to ensure that you are up to date with current practice and requirements when educating learners in your workplace.
The module considers influences such as life-long learning, diversity, leadership and multi-professional learning as well as social factors that may have an effect on learners in practice.
This is one of four modules which you would usually study to achieve the Diploma in Medical Education. Students who complete the Diploma in Medical Education can progress to complete the Masters in Medical Education.
You may choose to study this module as an individual module for your Continuing Professional Development or you may study the module within the Postgraduate Certificate/ Diploma/ Masters in Negotiated Learning- Health and Social Care.
